what does qttask.exe do?

qttask.exe - It's in my winnt/system32 directory. I'm running win2k SP2, and I have quicktime 5 with the activeX patch, (I mention this becuase I think the file has to do with quicktime). Also running IE5.5 SP2. The file has no version tab.
 
I appeared in my Proccess after startup after I also installed the Quicktime patch. I just deleted the entry in the Registry that loaded the program on startup. Quicktime works fine without it.
