my system was running fine this morning. I had to swap cpus for a friend what wanted to check his proc.

After that, I installed my 2800+ A64 back again, the system boots but hangs up on the boot screen with a message that says post code 6D.

I tried clearing the cmos, but that didn't do any good either.

Please help me out.

Thanks.

To me it means unplug your ide devices and boot and then change bios settings and and plug your devices back again and it works.

6D:

1. Assign resources to all ISA PnP devices.

2. Auto assign ports to onboard COM ports if the corresponding item in Setup is set to "AUTO"
