what does OEM stand for?

Parts marked OEM are usually packed in "white box" or no frills anti static bags, and come with just the drivers.
 
Warranties are sometimes different, and in some cases you can't get technical support from the manufacturer of the item if it is an OEM version. They will tell you to go to the OEM that you bought it from.

These are minor issues, at least for me.
