what does OAV mean?

Some anime titles are followed by OAV, such as Rurouni Kenshin OAV. WHat the heck does OAV mean?

OAV = Original Animated Video

Watch enough over the years and you're bound to learn something.

EDIT: OAV is usually put after the title of a feature that normally isn't put on TV first, like a regular series.

I've seen OVA and OAV

from my perspective, different publishers title it differently, but i might be wrong

call it what you will, but it should be NISDA (not in series dumbass)

Actually I too have seen both. But I think OAV is the norm.

OVA = Original Video Animation

Reguardless, it's just a way to tell you exactly what Fry said.

It's both, depending on the publishing house. And just consider it "original" "video"<-->"animation".
