dumb question. I booked a hotel online for my freind because she does not have a UK credit card. Anyway I filled in all my info and then checkout. I received confirmation email and it says 'Room rate - Room Only: NON Prepaid'
What does non prepaid mean? Does that mean I paid 100%? When she checks in does she need to confirm anything I.e does she need to bring in the debit card I used? I won't be with her when she checks in you see. Thanks for deh help no troll answers please thanks

Probably non-prepaid card, i.e. the rate they use for credit card in case there are extra charges.

Prepaid is likely a higher rate that includes a deposit.
As for whether they need the card: probably not, but it's better to let them know (call or email) that you were booking for someone else and ask about it.

Most likely means that the room was held with your cc but not paid, when your friend goes to check in they will still have to pay for the room and most places want a credit card on file for damages/charges accrued to the room (or a significant amount of cash deposit)

Thank you. So does that mean I have not paid full yet? If yes then how is she going to pay when she's there?

I think KMFJD is correct - typically when I book there are 2 offered rates, a higher price refundable rate and a lower prepaid rate. In either case, you still need a CC or cash deposit for incidentals.

As others have said, it just means you did not pay in advance. They will keep the card on file but not charge it unless you ask them to when you arrive. She'll need a card when she checks in for incidentals, but when she checks out, she can pay cash or any other method.

I don't understand why not having a UK card affects anything. Any card through a major merchant can be used internationally with an international fee, you should have made her eat it.

I don't understand why you didn't ask the hotel directly?

Or why he didn't just check his CC account to see if it was charged anything?

Or what's hard about breaking down the meaning of "Non Prepaid"?

Or why he even had to pay for his friend in the first place?

Not a lot of logic going on here.

first of all i am not a man
i paid for my friend because she came to uk without notice so she didnt book any hotels etc so i did it for her
i cant check my bank because online barclay app was down coincidentally that day
my english suks so i asked what inon pre payment meant on here also i didnt get confirmation for my payment and usually I do. I called them and they said they only hold the payment until you arrive and if you dont check in that day they will charge you from your bank so in other words you have to pay cash when you check in. At the end i went to the hotel with her.
you noob
