is it YOUR lifetime or the PRODUCT's lifetime? if the product lifetime, then what is it? (cuz when the product fails, its lifetime is considered ended => no warranty?)

um, i don't know...maybe with harddrives and stuff they say they have like 10,000 hours until failure, maybe that would be the 'lifetime'

it's your lifetime, so that when your kids inherit your Western Digital hard drive they're SOL because the warranty is expired.

if so , how could you define the ownership? my kid inherits my HDD after i died is not different from that i bought a HDD from the store and the store goes bankrupt (the warranty talked about here in both case is the manufacture warranty, not store warranty).

I'm surprised no ones actually implimented that one.

If you products dead, then there's no warranty.

LOL.

on some things... dollar store tools, for example, lifetime warranty means "we'll replace them for free, but the shipping and handling is going to cost you far more than the dollar you spent on the tool in the first place. "

A warranty only covers defects in the manufacture of the product, not failure from normal wear and tear.
