What does it take to be banned?

I would like to know because I was recently banned for one thread I posted, no warning no nothing. The thing is, there is a thread that could have easily looked exactly like it with a simple change of wording.

The thread it could have looked like

Now... I can accept the fact that it was locked, I apologize for that fact. But why the ban? esspecially when there was a thread just like it elsewhere on the board.. I could easily worded my thread to say:

"If you could be intimate with an animal what would it be? If I was a girl I'd go for a mosquito.... but since I'm a guy, I'll go with a whale because they have a blowhole. *swoon*"

I Have two gurps about me being banned... one.... why was I banned? my thread could have just been locked and that would have been the end of it, now I will never reach elite status without knowing why. My second gurp is that I would like to know if the moderators check their e-mail... I must've wrote 5 or so e-mails with no response to justify the banning. I would like to get an opinion from a mod or two in this thread... but anyone who may have some information.... please help me out.

perhaps you've uncovered one of the mods darkest secrets...

The thing is that the mods feel that if you are not a homophil then you're somekind of sicko.
Its a doublestandard obviously: you get the boot if you make gay-jokes and you also get the axe if you admit you like to be promiscuous with your pets.

trouble was that despite the euphemism you used, one would be responding with which animal they would prefer to have sex with, no getting around it. it was murky weirdo stuff. a one week ban was not a bad choice for you. your post wasn't an outright statement of perversion, but came worryingly close enough to for a suggestion in the strongest terms this was a no-go area. they weren't sure they really wanted you around.

I agree the thread should have been locked, because it was pretty sick and in bad taste. But banning you without warning was stupid, if indeed that's the whole story.
