I was trying to install my usb connection to my abit KT7a which is on the motherboard by the pci slots...
it was a bit tedious making the pins match, but once i felt it went in all the way, i turned the pc on and even though the cpu cooler is turning and the cooler to the chipset is running, there's no posting and i don't see the keyboard powering on either...
hmmm..is it possible that i killed my mb??

I take it you don't get any beeps at all? Undo whatever you did and cross your fingers. No beeps at all often means a dead board. A board beeps when the BIOS loads, then it beeps once for "OK" or some other combination of beeps for an error. No beeps means the BIOS isn't loading, and that has to load before anything else can.

yeah...no beeps at all...
well all i did was plug the usb attachment to the board but could i have killed it by doing that?? i did unplug it...
perhaps i put too much pressure pushing the pins down..
yeah, no beeps at all....but does a dead boarc still power up---meaning, i see that the chipset fan still is going and so is the cpu fan...
man, i guess time to rma the board..

Try resetting the BIOS, using CPU, RAM, video card and see if it'll post. Also, check to make sure everything is seated right, including the HSF.
