What does it mean when the final grade in a class has a weighted total of 70%?

I have 694/989 points, which comes out to a C-. I think the class average is an F so does that mean I have an A after they factor in the weighting?

Some professors will not "curve" if he does then you will get an A.

Well he has to. Every single test we've taken in his class, including the final, had a class average of an F.

I wouldn't say he has to, but it would look bad if everyone in his class failed

What does they syllabus state? If it says no curve, then you may get no curve.

Well this is entry level chem. I think he'd be reprimanded/fired if he failed the whole class.

It means term grade 70%, final exam 30% of your class grade.

Or maybe the other way around.

There is a curve. He already said so. I just don't know how to calculate it. Well final grades are released tomorrow so I guess I'll find out then.

that simply means that the whole class fails at life.
