You may have been reading part of another line in the ad. PC133 memory comes on DIMMS which are 64 bits wide(without parity or error correction) and 16MB deep.
(64/8) * 16MB = 128MB

ECC memory is 72 bits wide (an extra bit for each byte).

Memory has come down ALOT. You can find generic memory for as low as $50 or $60 for a 128MB stick. If you notice alot of people in these forums buy name brand memory. I buy cheap memory locally take my memory timing on my motherboard to the max and if the memory can't handle it I return it for another stick. The place I go to usually caries cas2 memory, so I don't have to make too many trips.

One of my friends bought 256mb of PC133 ram for $68. He went into the store to buy 128mb of ram and paid for 128mb but when he got it home it was a 256mb chip.
