I'm inclined to agree with Jfur on this one. Proportionate, when used by a woman, generally has an overall positive connotation, it's the modest way of saying she's comfortable with how she looks (and is almost certainly not extremely heavy).... it's a nice, neutral way of saying that she doesn't look like a troll without giving details like measurements, etc, and also lets her see if you push the issue (a guy who continues to press for details raises a warning flag). I'd say take her at face value, and you'll probably be pleasantly surprised, or at least not horrified. Just my $.02.

I'm tall and use weight proportionate to height when describing myself to strangers and I can assure you I'm certainly not fat !

I have done a lot of online dating and when a chick dodges a question and gives a proportionate or curvy usually even it = overwieght usually.

I have found asking height and size a good way to tell....also 99% a chick without a pic is not worth trying....most of the women I have ever met worth dating have more photos than they need and know how to send them.

:)

"She is kinda tall for a girl 5'11, long legs. Thats what I'm going on so far."

Uhmmm . . . okay. I suppose that means 6' or more even frightens you. . . . You're staring at one by reading this post. ;)

It's very nice to read men--boys, I mean--respect women here. *Ahem!*

To answer the original question: I can't speak for all women. However, I have used that phrase occasionally to describe myself and other women. When I use it, it simply means that my lower body (from hips to thighs) is even with my upper body, thus fitting well. Whenever I used that phrase, my aim was to emphasise that my body was not anything like some people's, where their hips and thighs are huge, yet uneven with their upper body (i.e., thin upper body).

As far as I know, that phrase does not speak of whether or not one is skinny, plump or fat. One can be plump, yet well proportioned. I am skinny, so your mileage may vary. . . .

I guess one can say instinctively that a plump or fat person is more likely to use the phrase than is a skinny person. Nonetheless, that phrase alone is not a sufficient reason to infer that someone is plump or fat.

It's the whole sideways answer, dodging the truth that's setting him off. And as was stated - pics prove nothing.

Oh yeah - tall girls are awesome. :D Finally nice to meet someone I can talk to without getting a kink in my neck. 6'1" and my town is predominately Asian. Translation - 4'11" girls. Lots of em.

well proportioned means that she's a FREAKIN HOTTIE. Well portioned would mean fat. Well proportioned would mean small waist with medium boobs and no ass or slightly bigger waist with larger boobs and a medium ass. Usually girls wouldn't answer like that if they didn't want you or atleast want to tease you because they like you.

Dude... you're in! :D

Hey now, Atrail . . . you offered to update us on what was up here. It's a week now and you haven't told us what she looked like. I would really like to know what "well-proportioned" ended up meaning, albeit subjective. Thanks in advance.

I think it means that her boobies and butt aren't too big for her body. Definitely not a bad thing. You wouldn't want someone who looked like she was struggling to keep herself upright because she's too top heavy. :)

There is nothing to update. I messaged squirrelman about the show.
She never called. I went home took a shower and fell asleep.
She wrote a BS email saying her battery was dead or some crap.
I was kinda pissed. Oh well.
But if I ever do meet her, i'll let you know. ;)

Thanks for the lack of update, Atrail. :( Hehehe! :p

Oh my! I'm shocked to hear that from you, Ohtwell. Maybe I just never knew you! ;)

Wait, what did I say?

If you are talking about the "top heavy" part I can explain.
