What does it mean when a girl calls another girl pretty? I mean is that a good thing, or is she just saying that for the heck of it...Like today i was talking to a friend of myne who is a girl, and she said that the girl i went to prom with was pretty....is that a good thing or is she just saying that to be nice?

A girl can call another girl "cute", "pretty" or even "hot" and not mean anything other than exactly what she said (no she does not want to hop in the sack with the girl). A guy can NEVER call another guy "handsome" or "hot", and surely not "pretty" without being gay.
