I grew up in Ohio and never really had an issue with the cold winters. I've always been a lot warmer than everyone else. My body just generates a lot of heat, making me very resistant to cold but very susceptible to heat.
My ideal outside temperature, in shorts and a t-shirt, is around 63 degrees.
I've been living in and around the San Francisco Bay Area for 5 years now. The first year was miserable due to the heat. I figured that my body would adapt, but even after 5 years I still find it miserable to the point where I don't go outside during the summer. At all. I just sit and (usually) sweat in a Starbucks while drinking copious amounts of iced beverages.
What exactly does this mean for my body, and are there any long term things that I need to worry about? Also, does all this heat generation mean that I tend to burn more calories just sitting around?
