What does it mean if a couch has blank cleaning code?

Trying to see if I can use Bissell cleaners on my couch but on my couch it just says "Cleaning code: " and there's nothing. It's mostly polyester. I'd describe the texture as being almost like a leather, but it's not actually leather.

Bought a small handheld deep cleaner, think it's safe to use a carpet cleaner on it? (that's what came with the machine)

It says to just test a spot, but it's kinda hard to do as I have to setup the machine with the proper proprotions of liquids etc, not going to do that just to do a few spots. Not sure if it's good to keep the cleaners in the machine overnight.

It means you can never clean it. To do sow would break the law, just like removing mattress tags

Most likely, the last time they "cleaned" it at the porn studio, they scrubbed off the cleaning instructions. Some of those shoots require REALLY strong cleaners...

The Poole act of 1972 mandates that all household furniture with fire retardants be labeled with tags indicating appropriate cleaning instructions, with the absence of such normally an indication that the fire retardant is water soluble and should only be cleaned by a professional service. Also I just made that up I have no idea.

Lol you almost had me for a sec. X means you can't clean it but I'm wondering if not having any code means the same. Either it means the same, or it means it does not matter and you can use whatever you want. I might just have to go ahead and test a small spot under the cushion and see. I don't think any chemicals are going to be as potent as the cat puke that is probably embedded in there.

I thought you were not suppose to clean port studio couches, for the same reason you're not suppose to clean BBQ grills?

If it is leather or a leatherette, then no I would not use any type of carpet cleaner on it. I would use a leather or leather type cleaner only.

I use my carpet cleaner on my microfiber couch and while it works, it is also a pain in the ass.
