Stupid ass question. You can't just look for happiness, you have to make it happen. (Being successfull and enjoying life)

what is "being successful"? making money? sounds kind of shallow.

Why do people assume that life has to have any kind of higher meaning at all?
A lot of people can't fully enjoy themselves until they've accomplished some arbitrary goal they've set. They might not even realize they had a goal until they learn to put aside such pointless benchmarks. Maybe it's being the best at something or getting the perfect significant other or the perfect job. None of it should matter as far as your happiness in concerned. You've got to re-evaluate things and come to the realization that you're good enough as is. I'm not saying give up all ambition, but it helps to understand that, in the grand scheme of things, none of that stuff matters much. Anyway, it worked for me and I've known other folks who'd benefit from it if they had the will.Originally posted by: aidanjm

Learn self acceptance, who you are comes from within you not from others
Learn to accept others and have no expectations.
Learn compassion, treat anyone and everything the way you want to be treated.
Realize that life is too short to not be doing what you want.
