what does HDTV ready mean???

Relative to televisions, HDTV ready means that it can display HDTV resolutions but lacks an internal HDTV tuner...it needs something external to feed it the hidef signal.

Relative to a video card/GPU, my guess is that the card can output HDTV resolutions but lacks any sort of TV tuner.

You didn't get hosed...you got a working 7600GT, right.

For what purpose did you purchase the card? General use, Video out to TV, gaming ?

Settle down, you didn't get hosed.

The card is equipped with an integrated nVidia HDTV encoder which provides TV-out functionality up to 1080i resolution.
