What does GT stand for?

grand tourer, but video card companies are just getting stupid to name it after cars... LE, SE, GT, etc etc

i've always thought:
LE= luxury eidtion
SE= sporty eidtion
LS= luxury sedan
GS= grand sport
SC= sporting coupe
IS= intermediate sport (?)

oh well that is for lexus and maybe nissan anyway.

Gran Turismo too (not the video game, but the latin version of what rbloedow said). Then there's GTO, the O stands for omilogato (hope I got that spelling right) which is just latin for homoligated.

In a lot of cars its just a more luxurious trim. In some its a sporty trim. I am sure it has a true meaning...but it depends on the product and who makes it.

i remember the good ol' S90 that they made for one year as a "CEOs son's car"

from the factory it came with all of volvo's features plus a fridge, fax machine, and electric roll down curtains ect...

obviously though if you are the son of a CEO and you can spend 90 grand you are not going to get a volvo...thats why it did not work..
