It usually means you made the first cut.

<joke>However, sometimes it means that you look so funny the interviewer just wants to show you off to his buddies so they can all laugh.</joke>

You passed the first round, usually with some HR (human relations) flunky.

Now you may get a chance to talk with the people that you will be working with. They get the final say on whom they want to work with and also have the technical knowledge to finish the weeding out.

At least that's they way mine went many years ago.

Good luck.

It means you didn't screw the first part up so do the same in the second and you stand a chance. But don't expect to definitely get hired,as you may not.

GOOD LUCK BRO!!!!

im currently in the process of trying to get a job.

Here has been my experience so far

early august... phone interview: 1 hour Jr HR lady
mid august, 1st interview, sit down, 2 hours senior HR lady
end of august, 2nd interview, sit down with the top dog for the entire countries particular dept im getting hired in. 1.5 hours
now im just waiting on hearing how i did on that 2nd interview.
then i get to look forward to

Technical interview
2nd management/executive interview
3rd HR interview/resume&reference check

then they present hte job offer, and you bargain with your lawyer on the various aspects of the employment contract untill it fits.

hopefull you get hired

I hope to start sometime in late october/early november.

all in all it will probably have taken 3 months to go through the hoops.

If you get it, the $44K/year will end up being about $15/hour when you spend it.

Second interview indicates that they are interested, but you can still blow it.
Best thing is to do some more research on the company to relate what you feel that you can bring to the table to help the company grow.

Second interview is a good thing. Some companies only have one, others have many interviews, it depends on the position and the company. The more interviews you get, the better.

The same, cannot be said, about dating.
