I havent been there in a while, and I was welcomed back by a bunch of refurbished stuff! I personally wouldnt buy any refurb stuff, but I guess overall it's better for us consumers, more choices and lower prices. What do you guys think?
I got no problem with it, as long as they don't sell the refurb stuff as new.
Some people like to get a good deal. And the company would like to make a good profit. And the factory that refurbished it wants it outta their sight. Works for all people.
So long as they don't misrepresent the stuff as being anything other than refurb, I'm all for it. It allows someone to "take a chance" on something refurbed to get something they might not otherwise be able to get. Newegg seems to be pretty solid though, so I don't expect them to sell refurb stuff as new.
I've never had a problem with refirb stuff (knock on wood). I just ordered a refirb DVD drive last week, should be here tomorrow. It's got enough of a warranty that if it is DOA, or fails quickly, I can get it exchanged.
If long as it is clearly listed as refurbished. Then its your judgement as to what it is worth. I have bought a lot of used stuff from the fs/ft forum. You pay less there cause you know your getting used goods. Stuff with moving parts like hard drives I am more hesitant to buy used, but stuff like vid cards I have no problems with.
If I had bought something that was listed as new and it came refurbished I would be pissed as hell.
