Huh? where did you see that? I supposed it could refer to l2 cache amount... (eg. E6400 and E6300)

Usually it refers to the E6300 and E6400 CPUs, as Quiksilver said, which only had 2MB of L2 Cache. All other Conroes have 4MB. (CPU-z reports my E4500 as a Conroe-2M, although I think the E4xxx series are technically supposed to be called Allendales.) What the difference between Conroe-2M and Allendale is, I couldn't tell you.

Conroe-2M should refer to those chips that are Conroe core but have only 2MB of L2 cache enabled (original E6300 & E6400).

Newer chips with 2MB of cache or less, such as E4xxx/E2xxx, are Allendale core, which is a different core with 2MB of L2 on die.

I have a e2140.

I wouldn't think an E2140 should show up that way. Your chip, as you probably know, only has 1MB of L2 Cache.
