Now I'm not saying the man is going to die. I certainly never wish that on anyone but with his recent appearence and the fact he is a cancer survive it raises the question if he can't work anymore. I love Steve Jobs, he basically sells apple products to me. Really two parts to the question.

Does Apple continue to profit?

Who replaces him or is there a replacement?

Yeah, there were rumors that Jonathan Ive is being groomed as his replacement. It would be a hard time for Apple but I think they would get through it.

Obviously, they wait until the iPod Clone comes out and they make 50 of him. No big deal. Too bad it's not on 3g though, it is a bit slow.

It wouldn't be as big a deal now if he left as opposed to when he was thrown out. I think Steve's probably done a good job grooming the management team.

Yea.. I think it might be a blow to their image, but not to their work. I know Steve has a big hand in what they work on, but I'm sure there's someone that they've been working on to take that main stage and blow us all away continually. Steve might have a vision, but it's all the other people behind the scenes that makes it work.

He WILL die, as will you, and as will I at some point. However, I'd like to see him continue on for a long time in good health.

Steve Jobs is the reason Apple is where it is today, I believe in him more than most business leaders.

And that is key. That will hurt, and it will tank Apple's net worth no doubt. It's just a matter of if Apple can still prove itself that will determine how long that will last. His image is a HUGE factor.
