What does aloe vera do for sun burns?

I was walking around my orientation at UCLA for a few hours, not expecting it'd be toasty outside so I came unprotected.. Then after realizing my shoulders were getting a bit redder than usual, I picked up a bottle of aloe vera, and applied it about 3 times that day..because I did not want to relive the peeling and pain I got last time I got burned..

you'll still probably peel, since all the sunburned skin dies. but, aloe helps to keep it moisturized, so the peeling would be less. it also reduces scarring (if there was going to be any), helps it to heal faster, and can reduce the pain you feel.

Ooh, that sounds good. So how often should I be applying it? Should I be applying more regularly?

put more on as soon as your skin soaks up what you already put on....
