what does a ruptured ear drum feel like?

what does a ruptured ear drum feel like? i feel like i can breathe through mine...

ive been able to do that for years... not breathe fully, but i can push air into and out of the cavity....

that is normal because the ears are connected to the back of the throat. Eustachion tubes (sp?).

One of my brother's friends had to have his ear drum pierced.. I forget exactly why, but it had something to do with ringing in his ears and everything sounding severly amplified to him. Supposedly, he hears normal now even though there's a tiny hole in his ear.

Anyone know anything about this type of surgery? I have no clue whether to believe this or not.

Yeah, thats why when the doctor sticks that scope in your ear you start coughing uncontrollably (err I do anyway).

Sorry.. I just finished working out.. and I felt like I was having a stroke.. I could hardly breathe or see... and my ear hurt like a mofo and felt like I could breathe with it. I think Im better now....:confused:
