What does a gal have to do to get a passable usb hub??

I've been looking for one that has its own ac adapter so it can have multiple power draining things plugged in without straining the motherboard but everything I can find on amazon and newegg is either without their own power supply or dogged by reviews of the included supply not passing enough current to actually run things like multiple flash drives at once. Any suggestions?

This one is a little more expensive, but it does have an external power unit. It is also made by Belkin, a very good company. Not sure if the other one does or not.

Been working great for the ~5 months i've had it. Works fine for my K70 RGB keyboard, mouse, CAD u37 microphone, Schiit Modi DAC, DS4 controller, external 2.5/3.5" HDD/SSD dock, and charges my Note5 even when the computer it's connected to is off.

It will run a BT adapter, a couple thumb drives, a cordless mouse transceiver, and still have enough oomph to charge my iPad on the dedicated charging port.

I paid far too much for it at MicroCenter. I'd assume something like this would be just as good. Although the included power adapter is only 12.5w. (So you wouldn't want to charge your iPad off of it while you're running a bunch of thumb drives.)

As far as "a girl" - my housemate saw the thing and got jealous, although what she does and doesn't like tends to vary from day to day. But it's obviously and awesomely functional enough that any cosmetic shortcomings were outweighed. It got the Nerd's-Housemate Seal Of Approval™.

I would also be remiss if I didn't point out that most hubs I've seen - even ones that didn't ship with a power adapter - had a power input jack on them. If you have a hub that is otherwise adequate but which doesn't have enough juice, it would probably be more cost-effective to buy a dedicated wall wart for it. Something like this:

I'm rocking a few 7/10-port "Orico" USB3.0 hub + charging ports. There's 7 USB3.0 ports, and three charging ports, two 1.0A and one 2.4A. I use it to charge my phone, etc., while working as a USB3.0 hub to my current PC.

I got mine at Newegg. I think that they're normally around $35. A little pricey, but so far, have worked well.

Edit: This isn't the exact one, mine has three charging ports, this one appears to only be 10 USB3.0 ports. But it is the same chassis. Looks like mine is not available any more?

I got my cool running, 10 port powered hub at Cyberguys over a year ago, and it performs flawlessly. I currently have 7 devices connected somewhat permanently.

Look at some reviews where they sell and review Rapberry PI products. Since they are kit computers they probably need powered hubs to support a lot of plugin devices. You have to pay attention to the power specs of the HUB if you plan on using many devices.

70 watts (14 amps at 5v), usb 3, built in power supply, 2 amps per port. even comes with a nice carry bag.

How far are planning to keep the hub from the PC, make sure the included USB cable is long enough. I bought a hub that I absolutely love, but it came with a 2ft cable... ended up spending $$ to get a longer cable.
