What does a coder do day to day, and do we need so many?

I'd love to have that at my job. It would probably end up with a much more stable product. Most companies are severely lacking testers. Ideally you want to have like a tester for every 2-3 developers, but in reality most projects I've worked on have 1 per every 8-10 developers.

yeahh that's probably not enough, unless of course you can automate almost everything.

our current ratio is 1 tester to 3 devs.
