went home for lunch.
blank screen on monitor.
nothing.
rebooted, fans spin, Hdd powers up. nothing on screen.
after closer inspection in better light, i see two capacitors, by my MOSFETS that have a crusty brown substance coming out of the top. are they blown?
how hard is it to replace a capacitor or two? do you need a soldering iron?
thanks.

1) Sounds like they are blown. Crust around caps is never a good thing.
2) How hard it is depends on a) how hard it is to find the replacement cap, and b) how good you are with a soldering iron.
3) Refer to 2(b).

:)

Good luck. If I were you, I'd just buy a new motherboard. But that is just me though.

they're gone. unless you can find correct replacements and you're pretty darn good at soldering, get a new motherboard instead.
