Assuming I use a blackberry for personal use, is there any reason to get a BES?

Blackberry Enterprise Server. It works with Microsoft Exchange to push corporate email to blackberry devices.

if I just use my BB for personal use, is there any benefit to me with it? I imagine the live syncing of outlook won't do me much good :p

You don't use BES for personal use. I believe there are personal solutions through blackberry's website. I have my email from my gmail account being pushed to my blackberry.
