What does a BES server do? :P

Blackberry Enterprise Server. It works with Microsoft Exchange to push corporate email to blackberry devices.

if I just use my BB for personal use, is there any benefit to me with it? I imagine the live syncing of outlook won't do me much good 😛

You don't use BES for personal use. I believe there are personal solutions through blackberry's website. I have my email from my gmail account being pushed to my blackberry.

You don't use BES for personal use. I believe there are personal solutions through blackberry's website. I have my email from my gmail account being pushed to my blackberry.

I hvae a data plan with my carrier which I use to push my gmail to my BB.
