I don't understand why poor people are living in an expensive neighborhood?

Can someone explain?

Thats not the ghetto. Projects not found. And if I were black I'd be offended that you imply its the ghetto simply because their are what appear to be ignorant black ppl in the photo

Yeah, it's the ghetto. I drove around the area yesterday.

This street is exactly what I would picture when someone mentions "ghetto". Chain link fences, furniture and trash on the road, shitty houses and "friendly" neighbours. Skin colour wouldn't affect this.

BTW, we don't have ghettos here, so I'm just going on what I see on American TV.

Oh hell yes that's the ghetto. Part of the Hunter's Point/Bayview district. That area is the "worst of the worst" in San Francisco.
There are lots of projects in that area.
In the years before the US Navy shut down the Hunter's Point shipyard, the ghetto rats would shoot into the base from their "safe" projects. I helped build the sewage plant on Evans, not far from there, and another company I worked for had a couple of berths in the HP shipyard, so I was in and out of there a couple of times per week with a boom truck.

Not really. You just need to be rich to enjoy it.

Which is funny considering how the "progressives" view the city.

Anyways, there isn't really a reason to live in SF proper and there are a ton a high quality community within easy commute.

Here is a better idea of what you can get
http://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sal...-122.080001,37.647103,-122.794799_rect/10_zm/

Still pretty bad though considering $350k in a place like Texas gets you a house on a golf course.

Section 8 housing. They don't pay much to live there. Translation: The rest of us are paying for them to live there.

Why would we do that? Wouldn't it make more sense to pay poor people to live in lower population-density zones in housing that is much more affordable (and thus provide lower crime and better housing?!)
??

that's not why it's the ghetto.

It's the ghetto b/c that is the historic ghetto of SF.

It'd make more sense to kill them, as they are worthless to society.
