I don't know exatly what m3s are going for right now but that feels high.

Also, it doesn't sound like a 'real' CSL

"
The base on the this M3 is an 2006 competition package M3 with:

• Competition Package / Premium Package / Navigation / Park Distance Control

OEM CSL parts:
"

Aside from that, I'm 99% that the CSL didn't have CF doors like he lists his has.

Personally I would skip it based purely on the way the sale ad is worded. There's just not enough detail or info on a 33k sports car that is generally ragged out.

At that price I would wait for a minty stock m3 from original owner with all records.

Could be nice. Spatiallyaware had a good point of this not being a real csl but a nicely specced comp/prem m3.

Those parts probably cost close to 10 large altogether so the price he has it listed at is pretty reasonable.

Never understand why guys dont keep stock parts and part out the aftermarket stuff. You almost always get more back that way.

I would drive it and do a full inspection on it of your serious. If babied and modded by a reasonable person the car could be a good deal.

I wouldnt walk away just because it has some cool parts.

No, his ad is correct. There's no such thing as a CSL imported to the US, that's why we have ZCP (or competition package). A lot of people buy OEM parts like this guy did and try to get it as close as possible to the CSL. The Euro CSL has carbon fiber door trimming, so it's not that the entire door is CF. It's actually a fair price for the mileage. This guy seems like an enthusiast, so most likely he took care of the car. I'll probably go take a look at it this weekend just to see its shape.

My dilemma is whether to buy something like this while still living in SF...

CSL had carbon fiber door cards.

This is not a real CSL.

It's a great deal on a lower mileage 2006.

Those parts if all OEM BMW CSL parts are a lot more than $10000. The trunk alone is usually about $6k once you get it here. Even the high end clones are close to $3k.

I usually keep my stock parts as well and just include them with the sale. It's not worth it to most people to 'part it out' unless they are strapped for the cash on their next purchase.
