What do you write inside a card?

Is there a website or something with suggestions for what to write inside cards? I like the concept of a card, but I dislike simply writing "love ___" or "thanks ____".

Alternatively, maybe someone here has a suggestion... I'm sending a thank you card for some stuff she got me & my girl. I'm not looking for anything formal. It just needs to sound low key and sincere.

I would just write a short note and mention the things you got and how you have been using them (ex: "The beautiful lamp you sent looks great next to our coffetable!") Tell her how much you appreciated the though she put into the items. That's it, no need to over do it

I don't normally buy cards, rather make them myself, but for cards in general, I usually like putting a quote or some words of encouragement because I hate it when people buy a card and just sign their name. It's so unpersonal.

Just make sure you spell it out clear why you are sending it. Assuming someone knows that you appreciate what they did is rude... (don't just assume that sending a card leaves you off the hook for telling them anything.)

Tell her you appreciate it, thank you, tell them how you plan to or did use what they gave and give a comment of thanks towards the item itself (see lilfajita's example) and any other kind words you want to mention.

Also, you don't necessarily need a "sincerly ___", you can simply put like "-Brian" or something. That space of the letter is usually reserved for the tone of the letter, such as "thankfully, Brian" or "regards, Brian"

Draw a picture, in crayon, of a bunny. Maybe with a pancake.

I usually don't bother with cards if I hand deliver a gift. Bah.

Yeah, and be sure to tell her about all the funny sounds your girlfriend made when you plugged in the new vibrator she got you. ;)

Ask her to come by anytime and use some of that stuff with your girl and you.

heh...funny.

i don't usually get cards for people..just not something i learned to do growing up. Chinese people give red envelops w/ money..no cards, nothing. I've never gotten a card...so i don't give other people cards.

Go into a card shop and look inside some cards and copy what they wrote. Or, pay the extra $1 and get a card with stuff already written in it.
