I have two.
80GB WDSE -> For everything. OS, APPs, MP3s.
40GB 75GXP -> Empty

I was thinking of just moving my entire my documents folder to the 40GB so incase I need to format everything is already intact in the 40GB.
 
Optomistic-
I have a 30GB 75GXP and a 10GB Maxtor. I use the maxtor for preburn backup and currently all my MP3s, and a few other archived things. I keep all my currently d/l stuff and games on my 30GB drive though. If I had a WD 80GB SE like you Id partition it 30 and 45. Then use the 50 for D/L stuff from Kazaa, etc, and the 25 for games Ive isntalled. Hopefully our 75GXPs hold out dude, hang in there 🙂
 
one 1200jb partitioned in 20 and 92GB. 20 for OS, program, 92 for download and share. another 1200jb formatter as one partition, for installation of games, movies, backup, mp3
 
Uh, what DON'T I use them for 😛 Games, apps, music, etc. My movies along take up 100 gigs (I've got a home theater PC.)

Suggestions...partition the 40 gi, and keep your system files separate from everything else. That way, when you have to reformat/reinstall, you don't get totally hosed🙂 My main drive is done as 10gig system/essentials (way more than it will ever need) and 30 gigs for programs.
 
My extra is in another computer I am trying to get working. Too bad most modern OS's don't like ISA devices.
 
I have 3 drives:

C: 60GB Seagate - for OS, installed programs
D: 80GB Seagate - for all downloads and shares
E: 120GB WD - it's empty for the time being. Not sure what to use it for 😕
 
60Gig Maxtor: System, digi. photo's, games, Downloaded programs, All other types of files.

120Gig Western Digital (8MB buffer): MP3's, Movies and Southpark, Simpsons and Jackass series' (and other music clips).

why in place of cdr of course, faster and easier to backup. CDR you have to label it and it will get massively messy and difficult to organize. CDs are great for like 30-50 backup but after that it become a pain because so many and it going to be very hard to restore them back on to harddrive, flipping and changing cdr. not very fun imho. but i have so many hd, if one dies oh well no biggies cause i have so much so a little loss like that is insignificant really...

 
Main PC:
Primary -> 60GB. WinXP, programs, documents.
Secondary -> 40GB. Drivers, downloads, backups.

Secondary PC:
2 x 80GB in RAID 0: Recorded and edited TV shows, possibly a fileserver in the future for my network.
 
Primary 27Gb - OS and Applications, I also use VMWare so I've got a couple virtual machines on there too.
60Gb - Movies and MP3s
40Gb - Archives
17Gb - Games

BUT my new 2 x 80Gb WD drives should be here tomorrow, so I'll be having a good re-sort.
 
2-80 gig WD JB's in RAID
1 removable tray for 3 HD's to back up my RAID (WD JB 120gig, IBM GXP, and Maxtor).
Last time I had a total crash and lost everything was back in 98 🙂
