I use custom excel spreadsheets. Mint doesn't support all of my accounts, and I have found that I have too many exceptions and/or things that aren't categorized the way I'd like to see them when I use software like Quicken or MS Money.
what does "keep track" really mean? To know what I spent on for which month? All I've really done prior to last month was watch out for big spendings and make sure I have enough in the accounts by logging in. Now I use mint.com and while the trends thing is nice, it's "rather unfortunate" that it doesn't go back any further than that month to start off. I have to wait a few months before this thing's benefit is realized.
It's always been spreadsheets for me...but with my crazy traveling for work, lving in a corporate apartment, and now renting my house...I'm thinking of using a program...haven't decided yet though. Any thoughts for people using a Mac?
Mint until it stopped working with my bank account. Even then I couldn't get my loan or credit accounts in there. Now I just use Google Docs (spreadsheet).
MS Money. I have been using that app since my sophomore year of college, and now have about ten years of data in it. It is sick running reports that can show my spending over that period of time.
