Actually talking?

Google Talk, and Skype are the only two programs I really use for talking; some friends use MSN Messenger so I use that when I need to.

AIM when I'm at home, and Portable GAIM when I'm using a public computer.

Talk as in text chat?

Or talk as in speaking?

text chat = AIM and GoogleTalk

voice = Skype and Ventrilo

After just now having read the FEATURES on both the Ventrilo & Teamspeak websites, I still don't know whether either lets you call out to a regular telephone.

Anyone know?

Trillian, but for actual voice communications I run a vent server on one of my extra computers. I have enough bandwidth for about 6 people to chat in it.

I use Skype for right now since it is free. It does all the messaging stuff and I can make phone calls. Just going to suck when its no longer free though to make the calls. Been using it for my long distance and its been saving me a ton of money.
