what do you use to rip mp3s from your CDs?

I like how Windows Media player can rip WMA's from a CD, but the quality sucks and it's WMA instead of MP3. What app do you use to rip CDs? Ideally, something that works like iTunes (it's a good enough reason to my a mac just for that app + iPod) would be great.

I rarely rip anything, but when I do, I still use AudioCatalyst 2.0 (from Xing and AudioGrabber). Any reason why I should switch if this seems to work fine?

I also use EAC + LAME, and although the quality of the rips is flawless, the program has a tendency to crash. I didn't notice this before the current iteration (.9 beta 4) of EAC. Has anyone else noticed this? What has been the most stable version for those of you who use it with win xp?

THANKS! I've been looking for that link :D

I use this one with EAC/Lame

--abr 128 -h --nspsytune --athtype 2 --lowpass 16 --ns-bass -8 --scale 0.93

but change it to 160 rather than 128 :) I can't tell the difference between that and the CD :)

Yes it does. We use it at work because it is pretty and the buttons are easy to find. Everything else is just hard!

I wrote a perl script to use cdda2wav to extract the music and encode it with lame, while using my naming system for my mp3s. I was bored, and it saved a lot of time.
