So I'm about to switch to the mac world with the impending arrival of a shiny new Macbook Pro. I want to keep said device shiny and new by keeping it safe and secure in a high quality messenger bag. Here's what I'm looking at:

Tom Bihn Zephyr

I know it's quite expensive, but I think it will be worth the investment.

What do you all use?

I use a laptop backpack from Ogio. I went through a number of crappy, low-cost bags and backpacks before I settled on the Ogio Metro. Pricey for a backpack (around $80), but if you carry a lot of stuff you'll soon discover that a quality bag is worth its weight in gold. The Metro has a TON of room, lots of pockets all over for your iPod, cell phone, laptop, books, full-sized headphones, laptop power adapter, water bottle, wireless mouse, etc. I really like the rear padded laptop sleeve too, it's a cinch to pull out the laptop quickly, which is really useful at the airport. Here's a link:

I have This Targus backpack that I carry my Macbook in as well as lots of other gadgets, etc.

The compartment is actually a little over sized for the Macbook I am thinking about getting a laptop sleeve to make it a little more snug when I travel.

I think I paid about $50 at Staples.

Update to my original post. I did decide to get the Zephyr, and it is absolutely amazing.

Why not give the PAQ a try?

1. I don't want a backpack
2. I just invested a tidy sum in the Zephyr, I don't need anything else!

I use a Brenthaven Edge II. I wish I had one of the new, smaller MBP AC adapters because the pouch is so small and I always pack the extension cord with the brick.

Targus Groove (backpack). It was like $15 on sale. Works great and is very light. I had tried a Swiss Gear before that but it was quite heavy even when empty. I returned it for the Targus.

Brenthaven makes the best carriers specifically designed for the macbook/macbook pro. Just take a look at one and the protection it provides and you'll see what I mean. Plus it comes with a lifetime warranty. I love mine.

just got my oakley vertical computer bag 2.0 from the apple store online today. its a very nice bag, though way expensive then i bargained for. still, i'd rather have some decent bag protecting my $1600 investment right?

I assume this one would not work with the 17" MBP?

according to the site it's for laptops up to 15".
