What do you use that computing power for?

I use my system for neffing here and other places, IRC, watching TV shows, listening to music and some gaming on the weekends.

Do you have any clue why people generally put their rigs in their sig?

To make their e-peen bigger, dur.

Gaming.

I also put my rig in signature because it's a tech forum. I put my motorcycle and mods in my signature when I visited the motorcycle site and put my truck specs in my sig at the truck site.

or more like you have a terrible computer and couldn't bare to have a tiny e-peen to match your RL one

Really? I have a pretty high end computer and I don't put it in my sig because it just strikes me as lame. I guess at some point in my time here I moved away from the technical aspect and more towards the social aspect.

The fact that your position relies on the "social aspect" of AnandTech strikes me as lame.

Says the guy posting in OT?

I'm sure it's clear to everyone that we are both posting in OT. But only one of us is making claims about some social aspect that makes him superior to anyone who puts computer info in their sig on a tech forum..

TBH I don't think either is particularly cool, and I don't think I'm cool or better than anyone else. I just think that there's no reason to judge someone else based on the fact that they have tech specs in their sig on a tech forum.

To be clear, I don't have a problem with you or anyone posting here. I only disagreed with the put down based on the sig that's all.

I have a 3.6GHz core2quad and it gets the geekiness inside of me all giddy when I contemplate the sheer amount of computing power I have. This has happened ever since I started playing with hardware/ocing, but I really feel like I reached the point where I can't find ways to use this power anymore. So this thread was mostly created for me to get some insight in ways I can use this power.

At 1080p.

I only have laptops, 4 of them to be exact.
All HP/Compaq nc6000s. 1.6 Mhz. Centrinos, 1 gig Ram, 40-100 MB HDDs, wireless.
1 in the living room, 1 in my office, 1 in the barn, & 1 in the closet (in a bag for when I travel).
I paid $100 or less for each of them.

They do all I need them to do.

The funny thing is when she started HD didnt even exist. She's aged well compared to most other girls. Wasnt wrecked to begin with. Didnt get wrecked over 10 years.
And the HD proves it.

As for some other girls, they really need some sort of auto-blemish fix in Adobe Premier.

I prefer watching home made armature porno. Often much hotter. But there's some really ugly reality there too. Far worse than even the worst porno star.
