What do you use for tweaking your system

well i have powerstrip to overclock my graphics card and use sisoft as my burn-in tool and help with diagnostics. What else should i use to tweak my system for every last drop of performance? Ill be using windows 2000 and windows XP professional

I would suggest HDTach for hard drive benchmarks.... umm... 3dmark and pcmark from madonion.... At least most of those can give a good assesment of how your system is performing once you change memory settings, o/c, whatever...

Make sure you have your virtual memory set up optimally. You may want to get tweakui, but I prefer to do tweaks in the registry by hand. There aren't a lot of performance tweaks beyond the graphics card, but you can tweak a lot to make your system fit your needs. There are a couple network tweaks for NT based systems. Make sure you have very few things running on startup and in the background. If you're using XP (I prefer Win2k), then turn off all of the eye candy.

thanx for the tips. just downloaded HDTach, pc mark 2002, and tweak UI now i just need 3d mark 2001

No, win2k doesn't have MSConfig. You'll have to download a seperate program or do it manually through the registry and all the other files that contain start up programs. I recommend this program.
