What do you use dvd-r or dvd+r

I am about to buy a burner I would like to archive movies but I would also like the option to back up all my dat and proggys to one or two disc.

What is better.

And is a standard suppose to come out soon or do we still have to wait.

I just bought a DVD+R drive since it was only $150. Have yet to install it though.

is there any consensus around here on which is better than the other? i don't think there is. sony makes one that does both, iirc

I want to buy the SONY but it is darn expensive. Under 200 seems more reasonable to me.
