What % do you tip cleaning services?

My roommates and I decided to get a cleaning service come in, since many of us work long hours and such. The cleaner is coming in tomorrow for the first time - what % is a fair tip? I usually tip 10-20% for waiters, but this isn't the same thing..

Leave the cleaner a gift-wrapped dildo (one with balls). Your choice whether or not you box it.

Why would you tip them? They are getting paid for doing a job.

WTF is with people thinking they need to tip everyone for doing the job they are getting paid for?

Yes, I understand with waitstaff in a restaurant, since in MOST of the country they get paid a substandard wage to begin with, but tipping is getting out of hand.
Do you tip the cop who writes you a speeding ticket? No? Why not, he's just doing the job he gets paid for...how about the meter-reader who reads your electric/gas meter? same scenario...

Unless they provide "extras" while cleaning for you I agree ;)

Just throw them like $5-10 a piece. I worked for a carpet cleaning company for a summer, and it was always very nice to get a tip on jobs. The cleaners will do a much better job of cleaning up if you tip them ;)

I only tip non-gratuity based services when I get something I'm not paying for.

ie: a couple weeks ago when I was getting work done on my car, mechanic noticed I had a little battery corrosion on the terminal and cleaned it off, topped all the fluids off because it was a slow day. He went above and beyond my expectations and got the job done fast (Because I can think of better things to do than sitting in the lobby of a car shop).
