What do you guys think about all this dumb stuff going on in the olympics about using illegal drugs. I mean one person got her gold medal taken away for having gold medicine!

I think they are going a little overboard on the issue.

Was it REALLY cough medicine? Come on, you know that they are doing drug screens....why take a chance of getting a false-positive? Hmmm...

But if they give one athlete a chance then others would demand it to, they just have to draw the line somewhere and where it is right now is the least trouble.

Its bad that she had to give her gold medal back but I think that her coach should have known what was in that drug the doctor gave her and stoped her from taking it.

I suppose that there should be a line drawn but I think they still are a little too touchy on what they are cracking down on.

Hey, better to be a little too touchy and ensure a level playing field than to not be fussy enough and allow others to win unfairly...

Sure, it was cough medicine...just like that American swimmer several years back who had her new world record stripped from her because her "birth control" made her test positive for steroids.

All the whining over her losing her gold is a load of crap. The odds of a false positive are extremely low; retests are given to ensure that it was an accurate result. If an athlete has another chemical in his system that causes him to test positive, it's his own fault. It's not like these drug tests are a surprise to anyone; each competitor is responsible for making sure he doesn't have anything in his system that could disqualify him.

Same with FloJo Hmmm heart attack at 40, full 20+ meters ahead of any of her competition and I could wish I could grow a moustache like hers and have as much muscle or as deep a voice. . .
The top atheletes are the ones who have the best doctors period.
I wish they would just open it up or enforce it.
IMO the Olympics aint what it used to be, inane sports, subjective judging, Pro atheletes allowed to get another &quot;trophy&quot; that they missed the first time cause they went for the big money out of college.
I watch with ever dwindling interest.
