About someone saying that you look like someone else only because of your race? Is that right or wrong?

You know what's funny - I don't know what people would say in this sense for a white dude. "Hey look it's Whitey McGee"... is it just me or are white folk short on stereotypes?!

I'm white and don't look anything like Yao Ming.

If someone said I did because I was white, I'd just laugh. People need to stop being so sensitive.

Lets say someone told you that you look like some chinese guy in general just because you're asain. Typical statement is "all you chinese people look alike" even if you're not chinese... Offensive comparision would be that guy from sixteen candles, and the guy on American Idol or any asians in general.

typically all asians have dark hair and dark eyes and have similar features. don't be offended by those facts. i know you aren't all perfectly identical, but you do look very similar as a race.
someone that says you are all totally identical is just being a jackass.

Most of the time, I'm not offended and I even crack jokes about it. How wrong would it be to say that to a black, spanish, white, or etc. person that they all look alike. Would my assumption be that they'll get pissed off depending on who they've been conpared too even if they don't look like them?

How are we supposed to know what your assumption is? If that in fact IS your assumption though, it's wrong. Not everyone gets "pissed off" about such trivial things.

how would you say this same thing to a black, spanish, or white person? i am curious.
i mean you used William Hung, and the guy from Sixteen Candles as the offensive people in your case. what would you say for other races?

If you get compared enough... would you be? How about someone being compared to bin laden or sadam just because they're middle eastern. Right or wrong?
