What do you think

What do you think societies reaction will be if life is discovered on mars? Do you think it will have a positive or negative effect on people? Where will people be without religion(or having their religions disproved entirely).

Scientists still think it's very plausible that life is just below the surface on mars. Apparently a vast frozen sea lies beneath the surface. I saw an article on this the other day but i lost it...

what religions are "disproved" by life on Mars? 😕

how would finding life on Mars change religion? :Q

is this flamebait or did you just leave a few things out of your OP ?

I think that the majority people wont care. I am looking forward to this discovery. Hopefully , it wont be long before multi cell organism will be found too.

it would be really cool if life was discovered on mars that was completely different than the way it is on Earth, this would show that maybe life is more common than we thought in the universe.

It'd be cool for small forms of life to exist but "smart" organisms would be a ton more exciting (or scary). 😉

I think that all the people of the world will come together and forget their differences in a monumental moment of clarity that will arise from the knowledge that we are not, in fact, alone. All our petty squabbles will fade into insignificance, driven into the healing mists of history by the shared euphoria of our new insight into the wonders of our shared universe and our place in it.

That, or....

Everyone will freak out, get majorly paranoid, and nuke the whole planet to a glowing cinder.
