CLEVELAND, Ohio (AP) -- A maintenance worker was suspended for displaying a sign with the word "traitor" on his state snowplow while helping provide security for President Bush's motorcade, officials said.

Michael Gerstenslager was asked to park a snowplow on an entrance ramp to block access to a highway the president's motorcade used to travel from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport into downtown Cleveland on Wednesday.

A state trooper in the president's motorcade saw the sign and reported it to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the agency's spokeswoman, Lora Hummer, said.

Gerstenslager does not have a listed telephone number and could not be reached for comment.

Gerstenslager is suspended with pay while the department investigates, Hummer said. She said she could not identify potential violations or penalties until the investigation is complete. Discipline can range from a verbal warning to dismissal.

A disciplinary hearing will occur next week.

many of the liberals who belive ALGore is really the president also think that "W" is a traitor for invading Iraq , they think he only invaded Iraq for 2 reasons

1- to "avenge" his fathers honor (some crap like that)
2- to get cheap oil to drive a large SUV / cheap gas

If he held up a sign or something that would be different but he used state equipment to express his views so in that context I agree with some type of punishment. He should have done it on his own time.

if he were off the job, he wouldnt have came within miles of GWB with his sign. they like to stifle protests with their little 'no protest' zones they set up around his holiness.

i believe we invaded Iraq-

show of force. project power. demonstrate that the USA can't be messed with without retaliation. ie. this was a reaction to the 9-11 terrorist attack , call it "revenge" if you want to.
to "fight terrorism" indirectly by showing the world that countries that support terrorism will be dealt with unilaterally
