Was glancing through the new PC World, and skimmed the article on what they thought would become of the internet. Items such as :
Web Based Applications
TV, movies etc.
Much improved Web Commerce
Broadband for everyone
Much better Access for PDAs
better web for schools
More client to customer interaction, via web based applications
I think there are major problems to come. As long as I have been on the internet, the problems I have noticed have only gotten worse. Some issues are solved with broadband, but it raises even more issues.
Net congestion....broadband only makes this worse, more info flowing, bigger files, some slow-azz servers still cant keep up.
Viruses only seem to get worse, and more easily hidden
Horrible security by websites that have credit card and other info on their customers, much less all my accounting data on their web based application.
Flash applications, that are not that entertaining, take forever to load, and every 12 year old with a web site and a flash book thinks its a "must have"
PDAs will never be able to keep up with graphics, and still only a handful of sites will offer a page set-up for a PDA
The internet will continue to attract, less than scrupulous people, and their methods and technology seem to move faster than the good guys.
There will become so many domain names ( .com, .net, .org, .crap, .porn) that most people will have trouble even remembering an address once they see it.
Anyway, enough of my rambling, what do you think will become of it?
