What do you think was the biggest problem in this NHL lockout?

Personally, I think Gary Bettman is a very smart man and knows how a business needs to be run to be successfull. Whether or not you think the certain proposals put forward are the best ones possible, nobody is coming up with anything better.

I think the biggest problem was Bob Goodenow. I think he was so set in wanting to not have a cap he completely ignored what the real problems are and wasn't willing to hear anything that wasn't what he wanted.

Hockey's problem is a small fan base. They can't afford to pay their athletes as much as some of the other big league sports.

Obviously Goodenow was the one who made this last as long as it did. Look at the players blasting him now.
