What do you think is worse: regret for the things you have done or regret for the things that you haven't done? Why?

For me, the regret of things that I haven't done is worse. :)

Even if you did something and the experience was bad at least you can say you did it.

I think generally things you have done are worse because you can't take them back. As for things you haven't done - there are many things that it's never too late for, and plenty of opportunities will present themselves if you have the right attitude.

That pretty much sums it up.

It's bothers me more for the things I haven't done, the opportunity's you missed and won't know how things would turn out had you taken them.

easy one: Done.

Things I haven't done are often overcomeable, while regretable things that I've done are too often out of my hands to try to redefine the outcome.

They say ignorance is bliss...sometimes I think I would rather not know what could have, would have happened- and keep the ideal outcome alive. Sometimes nothing is better than something because nothing (not knowing what would have happened) is safer and prouder...

thoughts?

I think I really regret the opportunities that I missed because I will never know what if. As for the things that I've done I don't regret them because what's done is done and there's simply nothing that I can do to change them. I just accept the fact that I screwed up and try to move on.

Not me. I think its a good question.

I'm with the "depends on the situation" crowd, but tend to lean toward regretting some of the mistakes that I have made with my life, and wonder how things would have been different.

My personal motto is: No Regrets! Regardless of whether it's something you have done or could have done, it all belongs in the past and as such, can not be changed. Life is too short for me to cry about something I can not change. Instead, I look forward to the future.
