what do you think of using a centralized management type anti-virus on a desktop pc?

I know this is kinda silly but...

Im having a dillema of using Trend Micro OfficeScan Corporate Edition (a centralized management type anti-virus). I dont know if it is doing its job properly knowing that it is specifically made for a client-server, network (corporate) type setting and Im just using it on my desktop PC. Im wondering if it is ok. I got this licensed copy from my school.

BTW I have the "client" version of the anti-virus.

Anyone who knows very well about this type of anti-virus? what do you suggest? Is there a way for me to test this anti-virus' functionality?

It should work fine. I think the server portion just coordinates updates and stuff. Does it have an auto-updater?

It seems that the corporate editions tend to work better than the home editions. So you're ahead of the game. :thumbsup: But make sure you have it configured properly, there are a few more tweaks in corporate editions.

Yup it does have an updater but it is not "auto".
