A sad story, just how the "law" is not always right.

Well, 13-17 year old girls are getting pregnant all the time.

This shouldn't be a special case.

I agree with Czar. The guy wants to take responsibility for what he did and take care of the child. Let him do it. Seems like Florida is on a roll this year :Q

Everything I hear from Florida seems to be bad....

The kid seems to want to take an active roll in his child's upbringing so let him do it. I have a feeling as soon as that girl turns 18 she will be out of her aunt and uncle's house and be living with this guy anyway. Also, I can see her never talking to her relatives ever again after this EXTREMELY MORONIC move on their part.

Nothing like a prosecutor out to make publicity for himself. God forbid anyone involved in this mess use some common sense. There is one law maker on record in that story saying "My first reaction is that the charge is wrong . . . I don't see any great, compelling interest for the state to get involved in this.". Then he goes on to say , "If the law's on the books, I guess it should be prosecuted like any other law.". Wouldn't want to miss an opportunity to clog up the legal system with nonsense that common sense would have fixed in 15 minutes. Just because a law is on the books does not mean it must be prosecuted. Police make this decision every day when they issue a warning instead of a summons.

this is just another case of how stupidity runs rampant through-out the legal system


Florida is not exactly a state thats free from drug trafficking and other highly illegal actitvities, but lets not worry about that lets go lock up teenagers having sex with teenagers

The aunt and uncle seem to have forgotten that the girl was an active member in this. They are going after the guy when they should be watching over the girl a little better. BTW, what's the point of not letting them have sex once she's pregnant? It's not like she can get pregnant again. It's ridiculous.
