Dell 1200MP

The space on the wall I have picked out has about 50" of usable space (horizontally). Could I get this and use it as a monitor? I have a nice TV tuner that has a great picture on my 20" widescreen Dell, do you think it would be ok on a wall?

As long as your wall is white (or close to it), that should work.
Info on throw distance and such

Would you be buying this new or is this like a specific deal you'd be getting / you have access to it already?

Basically I mean that this is meant to be a business projector pretty much and isn't really optomized for HT use. What is your source material going to be? Regular SD TV?

I plan on using it as a monitor for my living room PC which serves as my entertainment center. The distance will be around 11ft. I will be using the TV tuner in my PC as the TV.

Well since it would be my computer monitor, I guess I could choose, right? I'm using widescreen now, so I would like to keep using widescreen.

Yeah, you could choose. I'm just wondering that if the TV tuner is a primary source, is that material 4:3 or 16:9.

If that's 4:3 and the majority of your viewing is 4:3, that could be a good argument to getting a 4:3 projector like the Dell.
