The cage and seats, while not an indicator of how quick that car is, is most likely there for a reason, and the pics of the car cornering look like it's got a stout suspention. I'd have to infer that it's a quickly cornering car, perfect for AutoX (which he obviously races in)

I personally don't like Japanese cars, but would truly recommend a Honda or Toyota over that. To me that car looks fugly. I know your in a transitional phase with the cars (because of the mustang, I still feel for you on that), but maybe you can find a newer but cheaper Honda or Toyota that will have little or no repairs that need to be done to them over this. Good Luck.

I'm not considering buying the car. I was actually laughing at it and wanted to see if I was the only one who thought it was funny that he's racing around in that beater Volvo.

lots of people do that though... beat up datsun 510s and the 2002 i mentioned before... they look like crap from the outside but they sure kick ass... i dunno about that volvo though... but those seats are bling bling...

A quick search of 242ti on google shows that there is at least a small community of enthusiasts associated with the car. It was turbo'd and had a limited production run.

If its is turboed then yes it probably is fast. There are a lot of people that soup up those older volvos turbos. It certainly isn't any worse then my turbo charged caravan and the volvo probably handles a little better .

Ah, in that case that Volvo from looks is a POS, but depending on how much power it has, I may not be justifiable to call it crap.

Definitely not crap. Volvos do make the best sleepers Hell, you could always stuff a 302 under the hood (not at all uncommon).
